Pascal Rytz

Founder of Espace Legal, he is driven by a deep conviction that law is a powerful tool for resolving even the most complex challenges.

After earning his Master’s degree in Law from the University of Geneva in 1994 and being admitted to the bar in 1998, Pascal built a distinguished career by founding and co-leading several law firms in Geneva and the canton of Vaud. Clients may recognize him from his work with Solutions Avocats, Arc Avocats, or more recently, AAA Avocats.

In 2020, as the world adapted to new ways of working, Pascal combined his passion for law and technology to create a more agile and client-focused legal service model. This vision led to the development of Espace Legal, where streamlined communication and digital tools offer clients greater flexibility and efficiency.

Rent guarantee or friendship guarantee?

9 March 2026
by Pascal Rytz
My best friend is in a tricky situation. He needs to find a new place to live as soon as possible, but the housing associations keep rejecting his application because of his financial situation. I've agreed to act as guarantor so that he can get his head above water, but I'm wondering whether this exposes me to any...

Is it the one who shouts loudest who wins?

24 February 2026
by Pascal Rytz
I know a politician who has a sharp tongue before an election. He thinks he can say whatever he wants without limit. His favourite saying is: «I say out loud what people are thinking». In my opinion, his words go too far. Can he really express himself with impunity? M., Vernier Freedom of expression? Yes,...

Are you still around?

16 February 2026
by Pascal Rytz
There are friends we lose touch with, cousins we forget, neighbours who mysteriously disappear off our radar... And sometimes we wonder if he or she still lives nearby or is still with us? It's not that we necessarily want to inherit or send flowers, but human curiosity has a way of...

Can I enter into a contract with myself?

9 February 2026
by Pascal Rytz
One sunny afternoon, I got caught up in a fascinating discussion, the ins and outs of which I'm not sure I fully understood. It was about whether or not you can enter into a contract with yourself. The subject intrigues me and I'd love to have more details. Eric, Geneva In Swiss law, it is indeed...

Minors and the new criminal law

2 February 2026
by Pascal Rytz
My little boy is full of extravagant ideas. I'm very impressed with him. However, I'm also very worried because he doesn't know his limits and I'm afraid that his creativity could get him into trouble. A friend recently told me that the criminal law on minors had changed, but I didn't quite understand the changes and...

Where to pay for air travel?

26 January 2026
by Pascal Rytz
Like last week's reader, my return from holiday was a bit eventful, as I got into a tussle at boarding with another passenger who told me I'd broken his watch. He took my name and promised me legal action. What can I expect and where? G, Geneva...

I don't want to look stupid in 2026!

19 January 2026
by Pascal Rytz
After a superb holiday on an island paradise, I was sad to have to return and face the cold of Switzerland. I couldn't stand the attitude of some passengers during the flight, to the point where I insulted some of them... A stewardess calmed me down by saying that I risked being arrested when I got off the plane...

A festive intrusion?

5 January 2026
by Pascal Rytz
Christmas is coming and I'm getting ready to put our stockings in front of the fireplace. My children are excited, but my eldest, who is very articulate and loves her law classes, explained to me that by breaking into our house, Father Christmas could be committing trespassing... Brigitte, Canton of Geneva Your daughter's question...

All that glitters is not gold

15 December 2025
by Pascal Rytz
For Christmas, I ordered a piece of jewellery from a high-end brand for my mum. I found it at a very attractive price on an Asian website. However, I received a letter from customs informing me that my parcel had been seized and that I could face problems... What's happening to me? Kendall Every year, many...
