Obligations and contract law

I wanted to go to a show after seeing an advert that said «AVS/AI CHF 20, students under 25 CHF 10». With my student card in hand, I went to the ticket office, confident that I would qualify for the reduced rate. I was told that you had to be both a student and under 25 – quite a condition…

I took my coffee machine to a repair shop that fixes everything from toasters to electric bikes. First visit: a part was replaced and charged for; hope was rekindled. Second visit: another part was charged for as well; hope remained, but was waning. Third visit, still nothing; the machine stubbornly refuses to heat up. The manager, looking rather embarrassed, offered me a voucher for…

My sixteen-year-old son plays for an amateur club. Last Sunday, during a junior league match, an opponent tackled him with his feet first and his leg outstretched, even though he was no longer in a position to play the ball. The result: a fracture and several months out of action. The referee only showed a yellow card, deeming the challenge clumsy rather than malicious. The club…

I bought a table whose design I really like, but unfortunately it was damaged when it was delivered to my home. After too many discussions, the seller is unable to repair or exchange it and is only offering me a full refund and the return of the goods. I want to keep this piece of furniture...

Bedridden in hospital after an operation and under the effect of morphine, I bought a pretty bracelet on an online auction site that I had absolutely no use for! I don't know what came over me and I don't think my state of health allowed me to conclude this sale. Is there any way...

My father has his old habits. He only signs contracts with his fountain pen, convinced that a real signature should smell of blue ink. My sister, much to his chagrin, has just emailed him a rental contract that she signed... with a simple 'click' on her smartphone. As for my mother, who is interested in...
